Some of Ireland’s foremost composers join forces with an Antarctic counterpart in an exciting new electro-acoustic concert. Linda Buckley’s music has been described as a “fascinating interaction between live sound and electronics” (The Irish Times), George Higgs’ credentials include the Director’s Prize from the Chamber Orchestra Kremlin, while Neil O’Connor’s imaginative work has been selected for festivals and performances worldwide. This concert will introduce Ireland to the work of Jelkub Grogleen, Antarctica’s only living composer, whose piano compositions have never been played outside of his native land. Music will be performed on the night by David Adams, a renowned pianist and reputation for measured sophistication and eruptive daring.
