Volta (Ireland) ![]()
It’s 1993 and the future looks bleak for Belfast politician Gerry Adams until he hits upon a crazy idea that just might work – peace in Northern Ireland! The concept catches on and Gerry becomes an overnight success; shaking hands, kissing babies and hearing the sound of his own voice again for the first time in years. But there may be Troubles ahead…the Unionists won’t play ball and when Big Ian turns up and Sinn Fein hits a series of public relations disasters, Gerry’s ‘process’ threatens to disappear down the political plughole. The Producers meets Stormont in this anarchic musical from Fringe favourites Volta. “The brilliant Volta… go see for yourselves” (The Dubliner) Written and Directed by Liam Hourican and David Crann. |
