In the delicately eccentric world of this one-woman show, a self-titled ‘simple girl’ weaves perilous tales and touchingly humorous confessions together with a live soundtrack (performed onstage with a laptop and sampler). Mischievous and charming in equal measure, the girl becomes increasingly audacious and her soundtrack pleasingly unpredictable, as her audience of co-conspirators is enticed to chilly and damp London bustops, past Parisian bicycling accidents and on to the melancholy canals of Venice. Melanie has previously collaborated with such pioneers of contemporary physical and music theatre as The Clod Ensemble, Patter, Boilerhouse , and Dublin Fringe regulars Rotozaza.
