A darkly sardonic and intriguing theatrical experience in which Dorothy Parker’s poetry is transported into the 21st century and given a sonic face-lift. Aosdána member, composer and musician Trevor Knight (Catalpa / Auto da Fe) fuses dirty cabaret, indie, electronic-vaudeville and jazz combined with original recordings of Parker’s voice. Influenced by such diverse sources as Kurt Weill, The White Stripes, David Lynch, Captain Beefheart, Kraftwerk and Miles Davis, the evening will be as unpredictable as Parker herself! With over 50 theatre scores under his belt, Knight has performed and recorded with such artists as Phil Lynott, Mary Coughlan, Luka Bloom, Juliet Turner and Camille O’Sullivan. He will be joined by vocalist Susan Rowland and a six-piece band of Ireland’s top musicians.
